Build Days with Calvary Bible Church and FishHawk Fellowship Church

“You don’t need to be a professional carpenter to build bunk beds with Find Your Rest; you simply need a willing heart to serve the Lord,” said co-founder of Find Your Rest Nik Maxwell, as he explained the plan for the mission work that would occur over the next three days.

On Monday, June 15, two groups of volunteers arrived at Community Bible Church of Pevely (a partnering church of Find Your Rest) for their mission trip with SCORE International Ministries. Calvary Bible Church from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and FishHawk Fellowship Church from Lithia, Florida, stayed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Combined, there was a total of 48 volunteers ready to build bunk beds that will change the lives of children across the U.S.

On the first day, the volunteers divided up into two groups: one group worked with Nik on the bunk beds, and the other group went with Laura Maxwell, the second co-founder of Find Your Rest. The second group was willing to do various jobs around the church–anything from clearing brush to touching up the paint on the inside of the church. The next day, the groups switched jobs.

The third day was more community-oriented. Both groups divided up into smaller groups to deliver flyers to the Pevely community, which held an invitation to church service on Sunday. Hopefully, this will engage the community, and motivate its members to get involved with the church.

Find Your Rest is thankful for Calvary Bible Church and FishHawk Fellowship Church for their willing hearts and hard work. The two churches not only contributed to Find Your Rest’s bunk bed initiative but also helped the local church and community.
